Witness Me is an affirmational meditation using the Metta (loving kindness) practice as its foundation.

This version is rooted in trans and gender-expansive experiences, and welcomes anyone who wants to affirm who they are.

Begin with your breath

Take up to 5 slow breaths, following the circle.

Inhale as it expands.
Hold gently at the top of your breath.
Exhale as it softens.

Imagine warm water washing over you.
The water is gentle, comforting, and steady.

This water represents unconditional love and care for you.
Let feelings of love and safety grow in you,
bathing you from head to toe.

Know that there is nothing you have to do
to deserve these feelings or wishes.
They are given freely, without condition.

If your mind wanders, that's okay.
Just come back to the feeling of warm water
running over your body, and return to these phrases.

Even if you don't fully believe them right now,
let them be true for you in this moment.
